Word processors are not tremendously easy to use, especially for the typically complex documents lawyers produce.  It&#039;s a lot easier to intensively train a small number of secretaries/DPU techs to deal with the complexity of using a word processor in documents and then to pass documents to them via digital dictation than to train lawyers (who really don&#039;t care) in these skills.

... and if you think &quot;Word is simple&quot; then you should try prepping a document for real without all the style sheets and other customizations that most law firms run with.</description>
